Great location, and a lovely hotel with very friendly and welcoming staff. Excellent breakfasts too! Also good evening meals, and real ale!
A friendly relaxed atmosphere prevails at this interesting historic hotel. The food is excellent and the room we stayed in was spacious comfortable and clean. The staff are friendly and cheerful. The hotel is good value for money and the bar meals are wholesome, well cooked and very reasonably priced. The drinks in the bar are well priced as well.I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel.
The staff were friendly, welcomming and helpful. The food was excellent and the room comfortable.
easy going helpful owner....warm comfy room
nothing really...bit expensive for what it was, but thats all
We enjoyed their evening meals we ate in the restrauant on both nights the food was excellant .Breakfast superb too.there was a freindly bar and the staff were great and very helpful .there was plenty of hot water and fresh clean towels each day, even the liquid soap was provided . comfortable beds with good old fashioned warm blankets . our bedroom had a pair of comfortable chairs which was a help as the residents lounge was closed .
The stairs were a bit steep, [ for elderly people like us ] the residents lounge was tempoerarily closed,, as we were out and about it did not matter, however if we return it would be nice to see it reopened . the television set in our room was exceedingly small the screen was smaller than a lap top computer , but we did not go to watch T.v , however it would have helped if it were even slightly larger..
this was our second visit in a week and it was great again! Wonderful welcome.
I love the Cain Valley Hotel.
We had a great time here, everyone was warm and friendly. And could bend to our requirements. would stay again and recommend it. the food was amazing!
Nothing, staff wonderful and it is what it advertises.
Good food, friendly staff, good service
The bathroom in Room 1 was in our opinion below standard with the deco and the bath was a little antiquated.
It was warm and friendly. Traditional pub-feel with quirky, original features. Food was excellent and staff couldn't do enough for us and were very hard-working. We wishe we had booked for two nights!
Not much to do in the immediate village but great base for exploring surrounding areas.
Old and different. Excellent owners and staff. Quaint rooms and old decor. A central point for travel in Wales. Off street parking available. Local shops nearby. Village atmosphere.
Being first in the shower in the morning and having to wait for the hot water to reach the room, which is not uncommon in a lot of places.
Pleasant and obliging staff.
Evening meal dissappointing. Possibly worst sirloin steak ever. Definitely not value for money.
great customer service, very friendly welcoming staff
Very friendly staff, very old interesting building.
I liked the fact the Cain Valley Hotel was located in a small village near to our destination. The hotel was very pleasant, as were the attentive staff. We had our evening meal in the hotel restaurant, and I especially considered it very good value for money. On checking out the following morning, I queried the account as I considered it too low for what we had received in accommodation, food and drinks, however, I was assured everything had been included ! I was thanked for having brought their attention to the fact I thought the account rather low.
Our room was a large family room up in the attic floor of the hotel. Basically, the room was a great size with good facilities, however there are signs of water penetration through the roof, and this needs to be fixed sooner than later. It did not detract from our stay though, and remains a relatively minor issue.
very comfortable room everything you need.Staff are very friendly and food was fantastic the prices for meals and drinks are very reasonable
